@obeyplay Like! This is early concept so nothing is locked down. We want to include you guys in the process! The fan on this backpack currently spins and glows brighter at certain intervals.
@massivehatala nothing is locked down yet eh? Then that backpack should get a shoulder mounted rocket launcher! You know for fun! Oh and a disco ball too!
I think the realism is unneccesary when there's power rangers, glow in the dark items and water pistols shooting laser beams. I love the futuristic looking gear! Makes me really want to dish out more money. If I were to make any changes, I'd like for the straps to look slightly more tactical. Eg with square segmented sections.
@ Snorlax02: Check any toy shop and you can be certain you can buy costumes of the latest hero craze, I'm fairly sure you can still get the rangers too. The post on KS even states they are "Aesthetic only" so asking for some realism is fair enough. I do get what you're saying though.
What I found myself forgetting is that this is supposed to be from a child's perspective with a big emphasis on imagination. It may seem out there and an odd fit for the genre as we are used to it but put yourself in your younger selves shoes, if I could imagine my backpack was some futuristic jet-pack like machine I would. I remember vividly trying to catch the wind with my coat so I could fly around on windy days...
There is something I have wondered though, wouldn't all this glow in the dark stuff make you stand out a bit too much? It was mentioned that this isn't to be "a mindless hack and slash!" I just wondered what the reasoning was for making the kids light up like Christmas trees? As for the design, not sure I like it tapering at the bottom, looks odd. Unless it is meant to resemble a light bulb? Going on what I asked above, the noise from the fan would surely be a danger too?
